Cat

it was evening when i heard a cat meowing from a bush beside me and i tried to look for it. I found the cat and help it out of the bush. Then it started to rub its body near my feet. I guess it's his way to say thank you. But after a while, it didn't stop. So i started to shove it away with my feet., but the cat keep coming back. So, i push the cat hard with my feet one last time and suddenly i felt like i was falling down, just like a free fall.. BUMMPP!! my back hurts..

As far as i can remember, that was my first time as an adult that i fell from my bed when i was fast asleep.. What a dream...

p/s: This real life situation happened to me last night. Maybe i was just too tired... hehe..

radio

Last 2 days, I was driving while listening to the hitz.fm morning crew. The topic for that particular morning was 'when is the right time to lie?'. I, then sms to them saying that 'the right time to lie is when u think that u'll never get caught'. Unexpectedly, after a few minutes my phone rang and it was them, Rudy & Jay Jay from Hitz. They asked me to explain further. So i told them that i learned that from experienced as I'm married and together we had a big laugh. 10 minutes later, my recorded conversation was aired on the radio.

The best thing is my wife is sitting next to me :p ... so u can guess what happen next..

business

Hmm.. there's no easy way to say this but.. I've been planning to open an online store for quite some time but I have few doubt in mind, though.. So, my plan right now is to minimize the cost as well as the risks. I have done my research on marketing online product but honestly, I'm not sure whether it will succeed or not. FYI, i've done a few online marketing for the past year and the results was so~so. This is due to lack of funds.

First of all, what I need most is 1 or 2 partners, who is able to contribute some initials. Of course I'll be contributing the same amount. This way, the cost will be less and the risk will be divided fairly among each member. This partner will have to work hand in hand with me and should be able to contribute ideas to ensure that this e-business is a success.

Secondly, I need a good product in which i can easily obtain throughout the year. I do have a few products (electornics, clothes) on my mind which I certainly knows where and how to get it with a cheaper price compare to the market price, but for now, i'll keep my options open. So if you have any idea, do tell me so..

These is my expected start-up cost.

Domain : +-RM50
Hosting : +-RM100 (will increase if the business success)
Membership for 1 reliable supplier : +-RM50 ( optional)
Merchant fee : +-RM500 (one time fee)
Marketing: +- RM1000 ( flunctuate acording to marketing type)
Others (spare) : RM500

TOTAL : RM2200 (Not that much, huh)

Of course, these are not fixed. It depends on the products and the marketing side, but to be on the safe side, let assume that the amount shown is the minimum amount.

If I don't get any partner, the business will still go on but on a slow pace. Bare in mind that by becoming a partner in this business, does not guarantee you any profits. We have to earn the profits.. I'll get into details with anybody who is interested in this. So anybody?

Staircase

Yesterday, after seing lots of pictures of Pasar Ramadhan near Taman Melawati posted by Helas on his blog, I decided to go to that particular place to search for my 'break fast' food. Honestly, my decision 98% was based on the tasty 'kambing golek' photos on Helas' blog. To avoid the traffic, i started my journey at 4.30 p.m.

Everything was smooth untill I make my way back home. I reached my apt at 6 p.m and i was told by the security that there was a TNB cable breakdown near my place. So there's no electricity in the area. Even the elevator is not working. FYI, I stayed on the 28th floor. So we wait in the car until 7.30. Nothing happens so we decided to have our dinner at a nearby restaurant. At 8.30 p.m, still no electricity in that area. I couldn't wait much longer, so we made up our mind to use the staircase up to the 28th floor. It was dark coz the emergency light has no more battery left. Luckily I have a torchlight in mycar. So, with the torchlight, we use the staircase. That was my first time using the staircase up till my apt. It was very tiring. Just imagine, 28th floor.

The power came back at 10 p.m. And i'm proud to tell u, that I've lost 5kg that night (i wish) .. .. hehe..

I hate people cutting queue. Few days back while driving back home, there was a massive traffic jam. Obediently, I lined up behind other cars as usual. Ahead of me was a road split. One is going straight and the other is to the left. My car was approaching the split when another car tried to cut into my lane. I speed up my car, moving close to the car in front of me. The car which was trying to get into my lane didn't give up. He tried to drive close to my car, hoping that i would give way to him. Then all of sudden, he turn his head, staring at me and of course I stared back, with my bald head, trying to look like a road bully. To make the story short, I won the race, however my side mirror bump into his but I ignored it and continue my way back home.

Haha.. I supposed a lot of u readers want a more dramatic ending but sorry, that doesn't happen. I just posted this story coz i've nuthing else to do. Thank you for reading.

Security Check

My parents are back in town and this time they're staying in Renaissance hotel, located at the corner of Jalan Ampang and Jln sultan Ismail. So tonight, i'll be spending my night here.

Just now, when i first reach the hotel, on my way to the basement parking, i was stopped by the security staff. One of them was holding a big mirror attached to a long rod. The asked me to pop up my car trunk for spot check. They even use the mirror thingy to see whats under my car, worrying that i might be carrying a bomb. Next, b4 i got into lobby from the basement parking, i was stopped for the second time. This time is to have my body checked. It's similar to the airport check up. I have to go through the metal detector thingy with all my stuff and bags in a basket. Suprise.. surprise.. Never thought that they have this kind of security check in Malaysia. i thought its only in Indonesia, but of course, u have to be really sure when it comes to life & death matter.

When I reach the hotel room, my mom was getting ready for a dinner at Istana Hotel. She was telling us that before this, this kind of functions were always hosted by some cross-dresser or 'pondan' . So before my mom left the hotel, my dad tried to be funny when he said " Selamat menonton pondan". It was hilarious..

So tomorrow, i'll be going to college from here.. Will update u later if anythings come up...

Love-Hate Relationship With My Ride..

It's been quite some time since i updated this blog. Busy, or maybe i suffered from writer's block. But anyway, here my new post. And its about my car again.. Remember, for the past 2-3 months, i had problem with my car. No.. no, I haven't bought a new car yet. It just that my car gave me another problem 2 days ago. I was in Tesco and just got in my car. There was a honda just got into the parking area next to mine. When I start my car's engine, some loud, wierd, eerie sound coming out from my engine and I could felt that the everybody in the parking lot laid their eyes on my car as the noise was waayyyy too loud.

Smoke coming out from my engine. I was shocked, i turned off the engine and jumped out of my car, worrying that my engine willl explode. I don't want to be in the newspaper on the following day. The guy who just park his car next to me was shocked as well and took some distance from my car, fearing that the car will explode. After a while, the sound started to fade away. Instantly, the guy next to me get back into his car and change his parking spot far from my car. After the noise was totally gone, i get back into my car and try to start my engine again. Suprisingly, everything went normal. So , I straight away drove to workshop near my place and turned out that the compressor + piping was jammed. All together with the filter and some other small parts, it cost me Rm 800.

There goes the money again.. Despite all the problems, I still love my car.

p/s : Mr Jony and Mr Sunnysideup.. Are u ready for the game? U better be...

Only Read This If U Have Nuthing Else To Do

it's already been 2 weeks since my last post. A few events took place here and there for the past 2 weeks. My brother was caught by some viral fever and got hospitalised but has already recovered. Government has decided to abolish PPSMI starting on 2012. They shouldn't start it on the first place coz it's lack of proper planning. H1N1 cases are rising but I still don't wear any mask. PAS defeated BN in Manik Urai by-election. Haze-attack in KL and still going on for now, more reason to wear mask. The most important event of all is my stomach is getting bigger and bigger. Have to eat less starting from next week, huh.. procrastination is really addictive.

Stupid Neigbour (Part III) & Sick (Part II)

Story 1

I suspected that my not-so-stupid-neighbour had already rent another apartment in level 5 coz he kept entering the elavator with his daughter from that floor. That was a clever move. Btw, he owns the apartment which is under mine. Guess he cannot 'tahan' with all the noise that we've made. That's why I haven't seen him for quite some time on my front door. I wonder how much noise can we make when there are only 3 of us in the house. And my house is located at such a high floor so the noise should just dissapear just like that. For those who missed my posts regarding my $%#@ neighbour & have no idea what i'm talking about, please refer to

And to see how high is my house, click on the 'Photo' label on the right bar.

Story 2

I ain't sick anymore.. just a lil' bit of flam here & there. That's all. However, my wife just developed her flu like 3 days back. In the morning we already went to a private clinic near my place and just to be sure it's not the Swine Flu, that night we went to HUKM. B4 this, I thought HUKM is a goverment hospital, but actually it's not. They claimed that they are semi-goverment. I got to know this when I first registered that night where they asked for RM30 for the registration fee. Normal govt hospital only required you to pay RM1 if you're a Malaysian citizen. We had to wait for more than 1 hour just to get to see the doctor. For the medicine, we waited for 30 minutes at first but no sign of her number being called up, we got fed up, so we left the hosp without the medicine as we already have some from the private clinic that we visit during the day. To make the story short, my wife is put under home quarantine for 2 days, as it's too early to diagnose whether it is Swine Flu or not. They gave a letter regarding the H1N1 virus and home-quarantined order for leave purposes.

Sick

I got this flu, sore throat and fever since last saturday. On sunday, it getting worse so on Monday, i went to see a doctor. Usually, I don't bother to see a doctor coz as we all know, it will get better eventually. However I was getting woried coz there are a lot H1N1 cases in Malaysia specifically in KL nowadays. The latest news I heard, 2 schools are closed due to their students affected by this flu. Some of the school has been ordered to shut down a few classes in the school including a private school which is just a stone's throw away from my place. So, just to be sure, I went for a check up and luckily i was nothing. It was just a normal flu. And today, the flu & fever are getting better but not totally gone yet. So here i am, writing this post as i can't do anything else for now.

Btw, last 2 weeks, i was at KLIA and I wonder why haven't the staff at KLIA at least wear a mask. As we all know, most of the cases here are overseas cases. The KLIA staff are the frontliners. The possibility of them to get infected is higher that anybody else. However, in this kind of situation where the number of people infected is getting bigger day by day , everybody should wear a mask esspecially those who are always at a public places and that includes me. Everyday i took the train to my college. So, i guess i have to start look like a ninja..

Car

I consider these 2 months is my 'not so good' months. I won't call it bad as good things did happen once a while.. Last month, my car broked down and it cost me around RM1200 to get it fixed. This month, worst still, RM1600 to get it back on the road. Reason, the engine spoilt. I had to get it overhauled. And for the last 2 days, no aircond. At first I thought, it ran out of gas, but turned out that the cooling coil was faulty. So, i had to fork out another RM200-RM300 for it...

FYI, the car has been with my family for more than 10 years.. So, it is understandable why the car has been acting this way.. Is it a sign for a brand new car, maybe?

Cinema's Drawback

Just got back from watching movie in a cinema nearby.. To tell u the truth, I hate going to cinema, I prefer to watch DVD from the comfort of my home. And now I remember why...

There is always sound of handphone's ringing in the background.. Don't they supposed to silence their phone in the cinema. It will get worst if they pick up their phone and start talking or whispering.. Some might think that whispering is ok but actually it's not. It's irritating...

Next , bunch of monkeys who were sitting behind me keep repeating the movie line.. They even let out their theories of what will happen next as if they are the fortune teller. Feeling like smacking their heads off.. haha..

Last but not least, the guy beside me put his arm on the arm-rest. The problem is his elbow is in my side... Furthermore, his legs were on my side as well.. He really crossed the 'line'..

These are some of the reasons why I prefer to watch DVD. The list actually goes on and on..

'Domestic Violence' Is Nothing Personal

I was suprised on the statement made by our Deputy Prime Minister regarding the run-away model turn princess of Kelantan that was published on 'The Sun', June, 2, 2009 (Front Page).

"I think this is more of a personal matter. To date we have not been dragged into it, so we want to leave it as it is." -- Tan Sri Dato' Muhyiddin Yassin --

Since when 'domestic violence' became a personal issue? The model claimed that she was injected with drugs occasionally until she vomits blood. Imagine, if this problem happens to the wife of a normal citizens, it just a matter of time before the husband will be nabbed for interrogation. Nobody is above the law. This is a serious accusation and
should be investigated thoroughly especially when 2 countries are involved which are Malaysia an Indonesia.

I remembered, one of the advertisement by Ministry of Women, Family and Community Development on domestic violence which aired some time ago on an English station radio about a person who overheard domestic violence of his neighbour and did nothing to stop the violence. Clearly, the message of that ad is to show the ignorance of Malaysian relating to this issue and creating the necessary awareness to all Malaysian but yet many failed to understand.

IGNORANCE IS NOT AN EXCUSE

p/s : i did write a letter to 'The Sun' stating my personal view but it was not published. However they published another letter which have the same title as mine but was written by the Programme Director of Women's Centre Of Change, penang..

Let's Fight HIV/AIDS Stigma

Last wednesday, as I was relaxing on the couch, my wife ask me to watch a malay drama series for her as she was going to take a bath at that time. When I first open the channel, there was this scene where the women was asking the doctor on whats wrong with her relative, and the doctor replied that the she got AIDS. The next scene was the woman entering her relative's room, wearing a MASK and GLOVES..

Government has spent millions of ringgit to set up several awareness campaign regarding AIDS, yet still there are  people that are still have limited knowledge of this disease. The scene in the drama shows that there are shallow minded people living in this world. It's a sign of prejudice and discrimination towards people living with HIV/AIDS. AIDS does not transmit through air, nor through kissing, sharing or touching. So why did the woman just now wears a mask and gloves. I still can accept on why  she's wearing the gloves, but mask?? That's too much. The director/producer should be aware of this kind of thing before they did a film on that...

I've touched, shaked hands and interviewed a man who is living with HIV. I can see his pain due to the discrimination by people around him. So please.. let us help fight the HIV/AIDS stigma.

UN Secretary-General Ban Ki Moon say:
"Stigma remains the single most important barrier to public action. It is a main reason why too many people are afraid to see a doctor to determine whether they have the disease, or to seek treatment if so. It helps make AIDS the silent killer, because people fear the social disgrace of speaking about it, or taking easily available precautions. Stigma is a chief reason why the AIDS epidemic continues to devastate societies around the world"

Free Programming and Designing Software (Dreamspark)

Did u know that since last year, Microsoft has set up a program named 'Dreamspark' . The main purpose of this program is to provide student with sodtware design and development tools with no charges at all. Usually this kind of software/tools will cost us hundreds to thousands in the real-world market. Softwares include visual studio 2008, sql server 2008, virtual pc and a lot more.

In order to download certain major apps for free,we have to sign in and verify that we're a college student. Here comes the problem.. There are not much colleges in Malaysia that are in their list. To be added to the list, the college itself has to registered with program.. I quoted this from Dreamspark.com

"have your IT Department check out the University Administrator FAQs to find out more about including your school or organization"

So, when will our college(KLMU) be in the list??

American Idol - Season 8

I won't say that I'm one of the biggest fan, but I just love to watch American Idol. Never miss a single concert 4 this season yet. This season 4 me, is the best season so far.

Honestly, I can't sing, myself. I have no profesional training. Maybe that's the reason why I like to watch it.. to admire the talent of others as I don't have it..

This season American Idol has nearly comes to an end. With Kris McKinnley and Adam Lambert competing for the title. Both has their own strength and weaknesses, however my vote goes to Adam Lambert. He has been very consistent from the beginning of the season. He even got 'standing ovation' from Simon Cowell for one of his performance in previous concert. How many people have we seen in American Idol that recieved 'standing  ovation' from Simon b4 this? None... Lambert is the first. He can sing any song and even put his signature in every song he sang.

On the other hand ,Kris is not bad at all. From the beginning, most of the American Idol Fan has predicted that Kris would be in the top three but not many thought that he will be in the final.

Based on the finale concert, both idol has given their very best perfomance. It's a tough fight between them. Tomorrow the final result will be revealed . Who will be the next American Idol?
Tell me your who will u vote 4.. If u haven't watch the show, at least go to youtube, and watch how they perform.

**Edited : Kris Allen got the title... He won..

Free Domino's Pizza

Yesterday, I was hungry so I ordered Domino's Pizza through their website. This was my 2nd time I ordered pizza online. As usual, after submitting their form, I recieved the confirmation email stated that my order ID was 407.

As we all know, Domino's Pizza is famous for its 30 minutes guarantee delivery. And so I waited.. and waited.. and waited.. I checked my email again and saw the tag ' 1 hour ago' besides Domino's confirmation email, meaning that it has been 1 hour since I placed the order.. I called their customer service and the guy who picked up my call assure me that he'll check into this matter and will call me back. And the waiting continues... Neither that I received any call nor pizza..

This morning, at 8, I wrote a complaint at their websites providing all details regarding the order that I've made yesterday. Luckily I just learned on 'how to write a complaint letter' from my English class. I even threatened them saying that I would write to a local newspaper regarding this problem.

To my surprise, Domino call me back around 11 o'clock, rectifying the problem with me. They said the problem is due to the 'stop order' at the branch that supposed to deliver the pizza to me, meaning that they already have a lot of delivery order for that night and they've stopped taking delivery order. They claimed that they've tried to call me but my phone is unreachable. FYI, I enter 2 phone number for them to call.

Anyway, I was very satisfied on the way they handled my problem. They explain everything from A to Z and offered me everything that I ordered yesterday for free of charge which were 2 regular pizza, 1 cinnastick and 1 1.5l sprite. I said Yes... and so my pizzas were FREE..

These are the pizza set that I got for free...

As u can see, my complaint letter ID is on the box and the total amount is 0.00 ..

Hopefully next time, I'll be in this kind of mess again so that I could write a complaint letter and recieve pizzas for FREE again..

Huge Dinner

Let me start with this.. Last night I had a bit of rice with grilled meat ('daging salai masak lemak cili api'), roast chicken, grilled mutton, grilled fish('cencaru' & 'keli'(catfish)), 'siput sedut', fried lung(cow)('paru goreng'), hotdog, laksa, air batu campur( custom made), rebung masak cili api, 'pengat pisang', and 'pengat durian' for my dinner. I ate all these food over and over again for the whole night.. Surprise??

Actually 2day is my sister's birthday but we celebrated it yesterday as my parents were in KL and they'll be back to penang today. They spent their night at Impiana KLCC Hotel & Spa, just opposite the KL Convention Centre. We had our grand dinner at Rebung Restaurant located in Bangsar. 2 men behind this restaurant are Chef Ismail and Dr Sheikh Muzaphar. When we first arrived, We were personally greeted by Chef Ismail himself. He was very friendly. He and sometimes his wife came to our table a few times just to entertain us.

The restaurant concept was something like traditional malay + western style. There was a small live band stage in front of the restaurant and the open air section looks like a nice, sweet pub. There is also air-conditioner room but still, from this room we can see the stage and hear the music. During our time there, the Chef personally took turns to sing on that stage. In addition, there was also a guy from 'Sepet' movie went up the stage to sing a few Malay songs as well. Chef Ismail's wife also took the stage that night. Songs that were sing that night include I Will Survive, Can't Take My Eyes Off You and a few Malay songs. They also dance around during the songs were sang.

For their food, you can choose from the buffet or  the 'a la carte'.  The concept of the food  is Malay traditional concept. Of course, we went for the buffet. There was a huge variety of dishes to choose from. We can even made our own Ice Kacang. That is how I ended up with big full stomach by the end of the night( b4 this, it's already big, now bigger).

I had a confession to make. After 1-2 hours day, I can feel the food is up untill my throat. My stomach was sooo full that not a single rice can fit in anymore. However I still crave for more.  I felt uneasy so I went to the toilet, throw up a few stuff and back to my seat and continue eating.. haha.. That's how nice the food was..

Overall, I give 5 Star rating for the food and service. This is the best buffet dinner I had in my entire life. Highly recommended. Bye bye Seoul's Garden.. Hello Rebung Restaurant..

Mother's Day & Food

Last night, Mother's Day night, my in laws family & my family went for dinner at Fisherman Restaurants a.k.a  Restoran Nelayan Titiwangsa. It's located just beside Tasik Tasik Titiwangsa, So its like the restaurant is floating on top of the lake. That was my first time there and we had steamboat buffet. Honestly, there was not much food laying around for us to pick. Furthermore, when any of the dishes finished, they would take forever just to add on the dishes especially for the oysters and their drinks. However we still managed to fill our stomach with the endless small lobsters. Personally, I think, 'Seoul's Garden' is waayyyy better than this restaurant....

There was another family sat beside our table and it turn out to be my wife's friend but she only realized that after we finished our meal which is after 2 hours. It's a small world, huh..

This week is actually a food week for me. The day b4 mother's day, we went for my wife's cousin birthday party.. There was a lot of food, chocolates, spaghetti, nasi lemak, birthday cake, curry mee, etc... And tomorrow, we have a big dinner with my family to celebrate my sis bithday. Btw, my family is here till this wednesday.

Mother

I remember when I was small,

my mother took care of me when I'm sick. She would wake up at 2 o'clock in the morning just to check on me..

my mother cooked me food when I'm hungry. She wouldn't complaint a bit...

my mother will alwayz be there when I need her.. She always gave me advices when I need one..

I remember when I was a teenager,

I alwayz thought my mother was wrong and I'm always right..

I whined when my mother ask for my help..

I would stay upstairs just because she wouldn't agree with me..

I blamed her for my life's mistakes..

I made her cried with my disgraceful act..

Now, I realize that

my mother has always been right..

my mother's love is  deep and endless..

my mother will always be there when I need her..

how hurt my mother were when I revealed that I ......

It's wierd that we always turn to our mother first when we have problems, but when we are happy, we turn to our friends..

If I had a flower for each time I thought of my Mother, I could walk in my garden forever..

All that I have, am and hope  to be, I owe to you (The good side only, the bad side was from my friends.. haha )

Thank You MOM..
I Love You MOM..

HAPPY MOTHER"S DAY

Love,
Fadhli

Hometown

Its been a while since my last journey back to Penang. Oh.. yes.. I'm in Penang right now. Penang has gone throught a lot of changes since the last time I was here.

The first thing that I realized was the Penang Bridge. It's getting wider.. there are 3 lanes on it where previously it only has 2 lanes. Next was the swarm of lights' view from the bridge. Penang looks brighter than usual. There's building everywhere...

2night, we're going out to Padang Kota Lama or Esplanade or Fort Cornwallis which is famous for its fort and food as well. Reason for going there: Find something to eat..

2morrow, we will leave for kl..

Lost & Found

Going back to penang 2day.. Actually we didn't plan for this. Afew days ago, we got a call from 'Fitrah Kasih'. It's a RTM TV1 talk show like program that ussually invite people to talk about current issue to create awareness among others. And there is one last segment on the show titled 'Pencarian & Pertemuan', for one who want to find long last family or frens...

2 months back, my wife already attended the 'Pencarian' segment to find her mother whom she didn't meet for 13 years.  The 'Fitrah Kasih' invited us once again to appear on the program but they didn't tell us the real reason. So yesterday we went there. During the last segment, my wife is on it again and unexpectedly they revealed that they have found her mother and already invited her mother to the set. The rest was history.. Supposed RTM was about to send her mother back home to kedah yesterday but my wife offered her to send her back so that she could spend the night with her mom to catch up stories and everything..

So here it goes.. We're going to send her mom today back to kedah and then continue our journey to my hometown, Penang. Can't wait to get back...

Congrats, ...

If u have facebook account, u can visit his Mount Kinabalu photo album using this link. U have to sign in 1st in order to view the pictures

Here are some of the photos on the album

He didn't update his blog yet regarding his journey because he's still in Sabah, but he will, soon..  by the way, his blog url is

p/s : so frenz.. what bout us,.. lets come up with a plan to conquer something when we finished our degree.. Everest maybe?? or something lower, bukit bintang.. ??

Shaving

Warning : Do not continue reading if u have a faint heart or blood phobia or pregnant. If you insist. continue reading at your own risk...

The other day, I was reading The Sun Newspaper and I stumbled upon an article titled 'Shaving on Empty Stomach'.  As most of u guyz know, I shaved my head myself every single week, and everytime I do that, definately i'll have a few minor cuts here & there. There's one spot on my head that would alwayz bleed everytime I shaved due to a stiched scar. Just Imagine, a cut on the same spot, every week. The pain is getting worse week after week..

Ok.. back to the article.. It stated that when we eat something, our stomach will start to digest, our heart rate and our blood flow will increase. As  there will be more blood flowing through the arteries beneath our skin, there is a bigger chance of geting cut while shaving.

So.. couple of days ago, I left my stomach empty on purpose to do my weekly routine which is of course, shaving my head. Suprisingly, it was my first time ever I had a clean shave without dropping a single blood from my head.. So .. I guess the theory is definately true..

While I was searching for solution to get my Umobile broadband connected to the internet using Ubuntu OS last 2 days, I can see that a lot of people were also in my shoes. So I decided to explain in details how I get to overcome this problem sucessfully.

First of all, I'm using Ubuntu 8.10 but I think this should work for whatever version of ubuntu. Bare in mind, this solution is only for model E220 HSDPA modem.

1. Applications -----> Accessories -----> Terminal
sudo gedit /etc/wvdial.conf
Press ENTER & input your password if neccessary

2. gedit application will pop out end edit it with this
[Dialer Defaults]
Phone = *99***1#
Stupid Mode = 1
Modem = /dev/ttyUSB0
Username = user
Password = pass
ISDN = 0
New PPPD = yes
Baud = 1843200
Init2 = ATZ
Init3 = ATQ0 V1 E1 S0=0 &C1 &D2 +FCLASS=0
Modem Type = Analog Modem

Save & Close..

3. Restart

4. Applications -----> Accessories -----> Terminal

sudo wvdial

Press Enter

----------------------------------------------------------------------

If u're getting this for ur last few lines, meaning that u are connected

It's already been 4 nights and the electricity still haven't comeback. What is the management doing?? I've heard a lot versions regarding this blackout. Some said that somebody stole something from the electric box downstairs while others were saying that it's just a minor glitch where the TNB staff can't pull the switch up after they put it down. The last notice that the management pasted on the wall stated that by 2 pm today, everybody should have their electricity back.. but.. we'll see how it goes...

Ubuntu

At last.. After days of trying, I manage to get my connection to Umobile using Ubuntu 8.10.. Actually, for Ubuntu version 8.04 and above, they have this network manager thingy where u can automatically get connected to the internet but the problem is , the options given didn't include connection for umobile. I tried to edit the data for celcom and maxis option to Umobile but still can't connect..

Then I tried to use shell scripting provided by this blog..Although the instruction given is for celcom but at least the modem model was the same. Tried a few times but still the same but on my nth times trying, suddenly I got connected. The only problem now is the connection is quite slow.. Anyone has any idea on this?

p/s : 2nd day of no electricity and still surviving..

Blackout, Traffic & Luck..

Last night, my house was in the dark starting around 7 pm. But the weird thing is 2-3 houses in my block have no problem with their electricity. The management claimed that it was due to a short-circuit and they are trying to fix it out asap. Around 8 o'clock, i went out, hoping that everything would return to normal when I come back, but I thought wrong. 10pm, As I drove slowly, entering my apartment, I can see a few people still 'lepaking' and chatting downstairs due to the blackout.

So, in the end, my family and I slept in the hall with the sliding door wide open. We have no problem with the mosquitos as my house is on the 28th floor. Mosquitos can't fly this high. The only way for them to get to my house is by using the elevator which i think is imposible as they dont have enuff strentgh to press the lift button. hehe..

Around 3 am , my sleep was disturbed by the feel of water splashing my face.  Raining was pouring heavily outside. The wind was sreaming to get into my house. I jumped on to my feet and closed my sliding door swiftly. The next thing I remember is waking up again at 5.45 as my alarm went off.

7 a.m - still drizzling.. As usual we got in the car and send my sayang to her nursery. FYI, every morning, i'll drive to my wife's work place, park my car there, and take the lrt to KLMU. The problem for this morning is we spent almost 2 hours in the car due to the traffic cause by the sprinkle. Luckily, I was accopanied by Jay Jay & Ian from Hitz.Fm.. They were really funny..

Lucky for me, when I arrived at the parking place, I got a message from my classmate saying that the class was cancelled due to the lecturer is on MC.. (Thank You , Sir Mus) ..

If it wasn't for the traffic jam, I'll be in the college when I recieved the message, thumping my head on the college's wall. :p

Book Fair (part 3)

Not much story to tell on day 3 as my mom spent her entire morning in  the book fair, where as we all spent our morning in the hotel room.  My mom flight is at 3.15 pm but  we left the hotel at 1.45. We reached the airport at 3 p.m and the staff at the counter didn't allow my mom to check in as she was late. So, my mom had to buy another ticket. 4.30 pm , my mom was already on a plane heading back to penang...

Book Fair (Part 2)

I have no time to post on the 2nd day of the book fair as my schedule of the day was quite hectic.. My family and left my house around 10 a.m and headed to PWTC. Once arrived, we straight away went to my mom's hotel room in Legend but my mom has already left for the book fair. However my brother and sister were there and they were still sleeping.

So, we took a walk to the book fair. People were crammed everywhere. They divided the book fair into 3 Floors. The first 2 floor was the most chaotic one. This is where they put the story books and  revision plus excersice books for form 6 and below. The third floor is for the university books n above. So, if u guyz go there, don't bother to search ur books at the first 2 floor unless if u think that u're still a small kid which I assume most of u are. hehehe... By 1.30 I've marked my books...

Next, my family n i, my mom, sister and brother went out for lunch at bukit bintang. We had our lunch at Sari Ratu Grand Restaurant. Its an exclusive indonesian restaurant with speciality of nasi padang. Located beside pizza hut, cornet lot, near blue boy club. After we had our grand lunch, we headed back to the hotel. It was 4 p.m when we arrived due to the traffic jam.

Then, around 5, me n my mum left for the book fair again. I bought 2 books, which were PHP and MySQL Bible and Linux 2009 Bible. It's a good deal actually. Night time, we bought our dinner at the food court at lower ground, the mall. My brother even bought some stuff from cold storage to cook in the hotel room as our room was equipped with a small kitchen. Fast forward, I arrived at my venice hill home around 12 that night n I was damned tired..

Journey 2 Book Fair (Part 1)

Yesterday, My family n I went down to the Legend Hotel to meet my mother coz she's here for the 'Book Fair'. Her college send her here to choose the books that is going to be used by her college.  The hotel stay and the flight was sponsored by the 'Book Fair' organizer itself. I arrived there around  9 pm, and so was my brother.  He was a student in UITM Shah Alam. As it was already late, we didn't enter the book fair. During that time, my mom just got back from the book fair. She bought several books for his college and a RM 1500 encyclopedia for herself. I've never know that there are books that are so.. damn.. expensive, but I guess, it's worth it.. It should be..

First thing we do is we tried to find a place to eat. It's already late so most of the eateries has started to roll up for the day. Finally, we ended up at 'Secret Recipe', just in front of the mall and the hotel as well. We had a big dinner there. I had curry seafood laksa, where as sayang had her spaghetti bolognese, my brother picked some sort of mee + seafood + soup and my mom had her cheese macaroni. My other sayang took the brownies and ice cream.

By the way, just to let u guys know, parkson in the Mall is having sale.. I'm going there this morning for the sale and the book fair as well.. so this post definately will be continued..

Stupid Neighbour (con't)

My neighbour has took it to the next level!!  Yesterday,  while my family n i  was on our way out, one of the management staff took a walk to my car and claimed that he recieved complaint from king kong regarding my house... and added that I' have outstanding water bill for 3 months consecutively . As I tried to explained the whole situation , he interrupted saying that later I should come to his office and explain more and of course, settle my bills.. I said ok..

So, later that evening, I straight away went to the management office.. with the cash, of course.  I explained the the situation and to my surprise, he told me that this guy had always making fuss about everything. He also claimed that king kong's wife live in another place because she was 'pening kepala' with king kong. Furthermore, he said that king kong seems like a bit crazy (screw longgar). I couldn't agree more...

So that was it..  The management is on my side.I was relieved. I walk back to my house with a big wicked grin on my face.. hahahaha...

Kayak..

I only have classes on tuesday and thursday 4 now as most of the other subjects syllabus has been fully completed..So last wednesday, I was at home. Coincidently, Sayang is on MC on that particular day as well.. So, after we sent off my other Sayang to her nursery, we headed to a clinic nearby. Next, we went 4 breakfast and then we went back home.

As usual, I was struggling to get some of my assignments done, suddenly..

Me : Jom gi kayak

Sayang : Jom..

Me : Siap lar

Sayang : ok

FYI, my last kayaking experience is more than 5 years ago and sayang never did kayak b4. So.. off we went to wetland, putrajaya. It cost us rm 8 for 1 hour but if ur going on weekend, it's rm 8 for 1/2 hour. They do have other kind of boat and the cost varies depending on the boat type.

Do u have any other nice activities to suggest? We might be going 4 that the next time Sayang is on MC.. :p

Stupid Neighbour

I've been living in venice hill, cheras for nearly one year now. It's a nice apartment(at least for me) with tight security where u need access card to park your car or even access the elevator. The only facality they have here is the swimming pool which I never use b4. FYI, my apartment is on the 28th floor and guess what.. it's on the top of a hill. I guess this is why the place was named venice hill and bla.. bla... bla..

The thing is, I hate my downstairs neighbour. He stay exactly under my house. When I first moved in here, he looks like he's a good guy. He came to my house to welcome us. But one day, as i was preparing my family's lunch that day, I used the 'lesung batu' to prepare the stuff used in my cooking. Suddenly I heard someone knocking on my window and next thing I know, there was a loud banging sound on my door. As I opened the door, I can see him with his 'bangun tido', angry face. He claimed that his house was shaking with my 'lesung batu' sound. He couldn't sleep and so was his daughter. He gave me a hell of my time. FYI, that was around 12 in the afternoon. It's my mistake so I apologized to him.

The next few week, I was recording my daughter dancing in the house and here came to king kong again. iIt was about 3 o'clock in the evening. He said his ceiling was shaking and had a hard time trying to sleep.. He said every single day, he can hear my daughter running hear and there in my house  .. I repeat .. in my house  and that irritates him . "Excuse me.. this is my house, my daughter can do anything she want in my house. Stupid bast**d." That is what i supposed to shoot him on his face but unfortunately, I didn't. I apologized again for the 2nd time.

But beware, neighbour @ kingkong !!. Don't take it 4 granted. I'm ready if there is a third time!!

AsiaWorks

Have u heard about AsiaWorks? I went there sometimes around 2003, if  I'm not mistaken.. It's a very powerful training program. I quote this from Asiaworks Malaysia site

"Powerful educational workshops that create an environment for personal discovery – empowering people just like you to achieve significantly higher levels of achievement and fulfillment in key areas of life – including career, finances, family, relationship, community and work-life balance."

My journey there is a remarkable one. I've went to a lot of training, motivational program before, but nothing can compare with what I xperienced there. Actually, they have 3-4 stages there, but I only completed the basic stage. For me, that's already too much to handle. I guess I'm not strong enuff. It's hard to xplain what had happen there, u have to xperience it yourself..The main point of the basic programme is about awareness.

As we grew up, we tend to forget the small, tiny things. Just remember, when we were just a kid, we're very open.. we have no secret.. we apologized for our mistakes. We're really scared to do any bad things.. But now, we're different. Everyday, we might hurt someone's feeling, sometimes without we even realizing it.

In this basic program, they let us have the same feeling, the same emotions as if we're still kids. You will blurt out your deepest secret with everybody there. There's no wall between you and the people there . U feel free.. You realized every single, tiny mistake that you've done and you will be really sorry 4 making that misktakes
Some people said, esspecially in Indonesia , that this AsiaWorks program is kind of cult.. Some said it's a brainwash programme, but I beg to differ. Maybe because during the 1st 2 weeks after we graduated from the prog, most of us will be like 'zombie'. We use the same word to answer to every question. Yes.. it's true, we use the same exact words  when we talk to people. Only those who join the prog will know why..

FYI, it's a 5 day course and during my time the fee for basic training is around RM1500 but it's worth the money. Personally, for me, even if the fee is rm2500 , it's still a small amount compare to what u will learn through out the training. For more info, you can visit www.asiaworkstraining.com. I swear this is not an advertisement or something. I didn't get any money to write this story up. Just wanna share with u guyz out there.. that's all.

TV Series

At this moment, I'm downloading heroes 3x20 tv series while writing this post. This is the only tv series that I followed . Last time, there were a few but I stop watching then coz it's time consuming.. When you have a lot of video to watch, you'll do nuthing else.. As for me, I'll be watching all series all day long.. That's why I just stick to 1.

It's hard to find a fast, genuine downloadable link unless u're willing to pay for it. I know, we all can find free download links everywhere in the internet but the downloading is damn slow.. It could take years just to download a decent tv series.

Watching it online is another option if u can find free and fast video streaming link but that's also hard to get. I'm using umobile for my connection, so the buffering thingy really makes me crazy.. I found 1-2 nice places for streaming vids but of course, they have some weak points. And I'm not going to tell you where is it coz I wanna save the bandwith just 4 me :P..

You can use these links to download heroes or in fact any other tv series or any latest movies or music clips or games..

Fight & Forgive..

..Few days back, I was surfing the net and stumbled across my brother's blog which he tried to keep secrect of..  In his last post, it looks like he's in a fight wih one of his girl fren. He condemned the girl in his blog as well as trying to defend himself from what the girl has wrote in the girl's blog. You see, my brother and the girl are 22 and it realy looks childish when the're fighting through each other blogs.

Nowadays, this kind of trend has hit the blogs worldwide. On the positive side, I think this is a healthy trend because before this, the only method that people use to argue with each other is either face to face or through telephone conversation. Usually, using this method, one side will not listen or take note to the other side as they'll keep screaming to each other, thus making the arguments to get deeper and the misunderstanding to get bigger.

Using blogs, they really can express everything that is on their mind and they can almost make sure that the other side would read everything that they've to say. So, each side will understand what the other person has gone through and what  truely cause the argument. They also will have their own time to take a look on what they've done wrong that lead to this argument. Once everybody has realized their own mistakes, it's easy to for them to forgive each other and call for a truce.

p/s : 2day when I open my brother's blog, they have found out what went wrong and ready to forgive each other mistakes. Good to see that..

Dragonball Evolution

The title tells it all.. Mark the 'evolution' word.. It has nothing to do with the normal Dragonball comic.. hmmm.. maybe a bit.. The story has evolve into somthing else.. The story lines are very diiferent from the comic version but at least the characters are almost the same. I dont want to create spoilers coz there r still people out there not yet watch the movie but a few comments wouldn't hurt, I guess..

The main thing that I dissapointed with is San-Goku hair. Oh please.. It should've been better.. The hair was really stupid. One guy from my college have more similar hair to San-Goku(comic version). They should take him instead to replace the San-Goku part in the movie.

For me, the main strength of the movie was the humor they put up here and there.. luckily.. So, it was not that boring.. There are few memorable moments in the movie..  But overall, I give 3 stars..

For all Dragonball comic fans out there, you'll lose nothing if u don't watch this movie, but because it is DRAGONBALL, then I guess you have to watch it..

-The fake Goku-

-The Real MAN-
